A GUIDE TO PARAGLIDING IN and AROUND LONDON

Over 90% of our students come from London and the surrounding area such as Middlesex, Essex, Hertfordshire and Surrey. Once Club Pilot, many will join The Southern Hang gliding, Skysurfers or Thames Valley Clubs, this allows them to fly sites from North west London to the South coast offering some of the best paragliding in the UK.

To fly or learn to fly a paraglider in London would not be permitted as it is a built up area. Heathrow Airport to the west along with Luton and Stanstead to the North, all have large exclusion zones.

To foot launch a paraglider requires hills and our unique private paragliding sites are situated just off the A27 north of Brighton in the stunning South Downs National park. We normally meet on our main site Steyning at 9.30am, which gives you time when travelling from London and from there it is a short drive to our sites

London is just 50 minutes by car and with a regular train service operating from Victoria and Waterloo  to Shoreham By Sea Station its just a 15 minute taxi ride to our main site. Although most of our students will travel from London each day, during the summer you may prefer to stay locally while on a paragliding course and there are a selection of good B and Bs and camp sites very close to our training sites.
